All of Virginia Beach City Public Schools' (VBCPS) 82 testing sites are projected to earn state accreditation again for 2023-2024, following today's release of Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) Standards of Learning (SOL) test scores and school quality indicators data.
Virginia Beach City Public Schools will host a Back-to-School Care Fair on Aug. 12 to help families connect with valuable resources in the division and community. Due to the tremendous popularity of this event, this year's care fair will be at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. VBCPS is also arranging bus transportation to the event for several communities.
The school division's 2023 Summer School programming will offer opportunities for elementary, middle and high school levels.

At their June 12, 2023, meeting, the School Board of the City of Virginia Beach voted to name Dr. Donald Robertson as acting superintendent.

For the 2023-24 school year, Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) would receive approximately $16.3 million in formula grant funds through programs authorized under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).
